The agricultural industry around the world has become closely connected through economic globalization. Further ties have been established among governments and academic institutions through joint efforts to mitigate global climate change, prevent environmental degradation, and address the challenges of sustainable agricultural development and food security. In order to share recent scientific and technological achievements in these research areas and to join hands in finding solutions for the harmonious development of society, the environment, and agriculture, the 2008 Yangling International Agri-science Forum will be held at Northwest A&F University from November 5-7, 2008. With a background of agricultural production, social economic development, and sustainable environment, the forum will provide an opportunity for deliberation and the exchange of ideas regarding the development of circular agricultural from a scientific, technological, and policy perspective
