China UK Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Network (SAIN) Working Group (WG4) Meeting in Beijing

SAIN WG4 China side group meeting was held in Landmark Hotel, Beijing, China on April 13, 2010. The meeting was chaired by the WG4 coach Shangbin Gao, the director of Agro-Environmental Protection Institution (AEPI). All China side group members attended the meeting, including Prof. Dianlin Yang, Prof. Wenliang Wu, Prof. Yuhui Qiao, Prof. Huafen Li, Prof. Keqiang Zhang, etc. The China office of SAIN Secretariat, Yanan Tong, and UK delegate, Ms Su Zhang and Prof. Lianhai Wu also participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the WG4 chair Gao introduced the WG4 progress, further plans and present problems to the meeting members. Prof. Tong introduced the SAIN situation and the future plans. Ms Zhang and Prof. Lianhai Wu presented the China-UK agricultural cooperation experiences. Prof. Wenliang Wu and Prof. Yang introduced the progress of two project proposals, the circular agriculture and non-point pollution, including the proposals composition, case sites selection, etc. Additionally, meeting members discussed what and how to improve the cooperation of China and the U.K. in agricultural areas.
