Prof Bob Watson Gave Lecture at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences

On 6th July, Prof Bob Watson, Chief Scientific Advisor to the UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Co-chair of SAIN Governing Board, gave a lecture at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences with title of “Agriculture, food and climate change - working together to enhance global security".  In his lecture, Prof Watson outlined the world food status, challenges to global food security, and the impact of climate change on agricultural production, as well as UK-China collaboration in sustainable agriculture.
The lecture was chaired by Prof Tang Huajun, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Over hundred students and staff from the Academy attended the lecture.
After the lecture, Prof Watson and his delegation also met with Prof Tang Huajun and exchanged views on further cooperation in the areas of climate change, energy and environment.
