Inception workshop on “Estimates of Future Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Mitigation in China ” Held in Nanjing

The inception workshop of SAIN WG3 project “Future Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Mitigation in China” was held in Nanjing Agricultural University on 9-12 March. The workshop was attended by over 40 representatives from involved partners. Led by Prof Pan Genxing (Nanjing Agricultural University) and Prof Pete Smith (University of Aberdeen), this three –year project brings together research from Nanjing Agricultural University, Lanzhou University, Shenyang Agricultural University, Peking University and Zhejiang University in China, University of Aberdeen, North Wyke Research, University of Aberystwyth and Scottish Agricultural College in the UK.

The overall purpose of the project is to provide decision support tools and policy advice based on a database of appropriate, economically-costed agricultural climate mitigation strategies for each region / agricultural system in China.
